OK, I talked smack so here’s my submission. Hank is right, a minor flat-5 chord sounds like crap on a guitar, so I went with a hip-hop synth/piano/bass groove to start, then worked my way up to insane shredding slop-noise.
This round pissed me off again at first, because I had to stretch my limited theory knowledge. In the end, though, it was a lot of fun; and helped me burn in some neurons with new scales and intervals.
There’s some slop in here I would have liked to fix, but multiple takes and punching in take me forever because my production skills are still rudimentary at best, and I’m not trying to win a freaking grammy or anything.
All parts were composed and played by moi (no canned loops or drum track). The first solo is with my Line 6 Dr. Distorto and Jimi Hendrix Original wah, the others are pre-packaged effects from Propellerhead Record with tweaks to suit my taste.
