Years ago I lived in East Tennessee along the Foothills of the Smokey Mountains. Every few weeks I would take a drive up to the Foothills Parkway or the Blue Ridge Parkway simply to relax and take in the sheer beauty. More often than not I would stay long enough that it was very late at night when I’d begin the drive home. For years I had imagined writing a song expressing how it felt to drive down the mountain with all the windows down and the sunroof open with the moon shining down on me.
Well, I finally got around to it and this is part of the result. This is completely raw, just me a mic and my guitar, one take and literally zero editing/mastering. Playing on my new Yamaha acoustic with newish strings and the factory setup[1], capo’d on the 4th.
Enjoy!
[1] It’s not bad from the factory, only slightly high action, but the neck is almost perfect!
