I was having problems with this etude in one of the books I’ve been going through. I originally planned on doing something totally different but then I realized this Etude is a major jazzy/bop style blues. It was originally in G, but I transcribed it up to A. I also tried a little of my own soloing on the last chorus, which didn’t come out quite that good.
Then again I was tired as hell when I did this.
This is all done with just my guitar, and a slight tiny amount of reverb to make it sound realistic. The guitar is just straight into the DI on the recording device and that’s all, for both the comping and the lead.
Any of the effects or changes in sound are me doing stuff on the guitar. That “plunky” part in the middle is a palm mute on the bridge. The faint “echo” is me combining a harmonic here and there. And so on.
And of course I had to throw in a jacked up bar or two at the very end to drive Chad crazy.
