Just curious where you guys come from.
Me, the guy that made me want to play guitar, electric guitar, was Michael Schenker … I believe I’ve owned 4 copies of UFO’s Stranger’s in the Night … the first two on vinyl which I wore out. That was it for me, Rock Bottom, Lights Out, Love to Love, Doctor Doctor … everybody has one of these, this was mine. I’ll confess, I also played a lot of air guitar to REO Speedwagon’s Ridin’ the Storm out and Keep Pushin’ … though Gary Ritchrath isn’t quite considered a guitar god by any stretch …
After that, there’s a ton of folks over time that I listened to and have a place in my brain that sometimes emerges. Gary Moore, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Steve Morse … some fusion guys, Frank Gambale, Brett Garsed. Probably my favorite ‘newer’ guitarist is Joe Bonamassa.
I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few, but that’s a good start. How about you guys?
