So, round 7 was a little over 2 weeks long, had 4 options for themes to choose from and got 4 submissions … 3 from guys that have 6 each and 1 virgin …
Zed was crowned King, but instead of thunderous applause we have chirping crickets and the sound of silence …
What can we do to improve that? My limited experience trying to drum up interest is that other guitar sites simply view mentioning fretwar as spam and warn/ban/chastise you … Craigslist didn’t work out so well either …
Most of us are geeks first, guitarists as a hobby so out collective draw via social sites is going to be pretty small with our usual viewers.
I’m going to continue playing here, because it’s helping me … my chops are slowly coming back, I’m getting better at recording and having someone else suggest themes is good for me in terms of getting out of rut … but really Chad, Zed and I know what each other sound like at this point … some more participation would really be great.
Thoughts, ideas, etc?
What about all you silent people, you know the 200+ of you that signed up, but don’t play and mostly don’t even review/comment? What would boost your participation?
