So I’m going to crank out a smooth jazz submission today, except mine won’t be nearly as awesome as that.
I figured I’d upload the test record I usually do to audition so people can hear how I sometimes figure out modal stuff. What I do is lay down the basic rhythm section, and use maybe 3 or 4 chords. In this case F:Bdim:C/E on electric organ and F:B-7b5:E-9 on guitar. With that laid down kind of half-assed, I then just play the scale over that a whole bunch until I get it in my head.
After this I usually try to write down a melody, or maybe I’ll just goof off depending on how much time I have.
Oh, one thing is that this is just my guitar recorded straight into the DP-008, so that’s why it sound super duper clean. I’ll fix that with an amp later. :-)
