Good post Ahsanul. I agree with it 100%; granted I’m an old guy, but I would have put a ton more effort into being good and noticed and successful if we had the tech we have today (and the internet of course), but that segues into the point I want to make.
At some level, you have to make music for you. Absolutely you want to be heard and noticed, but you have to enjoy it too. I’ve often thought that if I were successful musically and it became more of a job, I might not like it as much as I do just using it as a stress reliever … to use an analogy, I love to cook too, but if I had to Chef at a restaurant it’d suck all the fun and life out of it for me.
I play for fun and stress relief too, but I still like people to hear and enjoy my music. Not so much because I want to be a star, but because it is fulfilling to make people happy and give them a little fun.
