Disco and Wizards and Guitar, Oh My!

It’s sad, I want to do all three again … but must focus … must focus

    Zed Shaw

Me too, I think this time, I’m going to use the forum-audition to post something each day for people to check out. See if that helps me stay on task and break the project up into little things over the week rather than one giant thing at the end.

Why is it that after reading the description of #5 I have this weird creepy vision of Buffalo Bill doing his mangina dance from Silence of the Lambs.

    Chad Woolley

    I’d do me…

    A-RoN

Um… Wait… do we have to do all three?

  2. A-RoN

Crap… I didn’t know all chapters had to be in one file. Can I delete my post and put up a new one???

    Zed Shaw

You shouldn’t need to put them in one file. Individual attachments will be played in order and people will listen to them before rating. Let me take a look.

    Zed Shaw

Hey, I’ll email you offline and help you out. We’ll get a chat going and I’ll get your stuff sorted out.

    A-RoN

Also, I forgot to name it so it’s like invisible…

    Zed Shaw

Just sent you a couple emails, but just in case they don’t get through here’s what ya do:

    • Send another email with a subject and body again. It just updates so you can’t accidentally erase anything. Just send it until you get it right.
    • Send your chapter4.mp3 and chapter5.mp3 as new attachments. They’ll get added. Don’t send it as one big file since people can’t tell you which one they like best.
    • New attachments will be added to your list and play just fine. If you want to replace chapter3.mp3 because you messed it up, then just send it again with the same name (chapter3.mp3) and your new one will overwrite the old one.
    • See if you can turn off HTML email, here’s a page describing how:

It might be a bit out of date, but that should get you started.

    Zed Shaw

Alright A-RoN, you hit a weird bug I’ll have to check out later, but I fixed your stuff up and you are all good. chapter3.mp3 and chapter4.mp3 are set and ready to go, and if you send in an email with no attachments and just a body you can write a description too (although the music is good enough).

    Sorry about that.

    A-RoN

Alright cool… it’s working. So lets say I wanted to replace a file, do I send a new email with identical subject and body as the first email?

    Zed Shaw

If you leave the body blank it leaves your subject and body alone. So, to update a file just send it and only it in, keeping the name the same.
