Slow and reflective piece. Key of B, which the drone helps to reinforce.

There’s always sunshine around the corner when this song is playing - it is hopelessly major. Played in G, D, and Am, although its down a full step so it’s really F, C, and Gm. I busted out my acoustic for the verse, it’s panned to the right, with a crunchier rhythm to the left.

A straightforward little 12 bar blues for your listening pleasure. The rhythm guitar is run through a Leslie (sim) to give a bit of an organ feel to it - not your typical blues instrument, so it shakes things up a bit. The lead has a touch of chorus and a ton of compression, but no reverb at all to keep things nice and tight. Bass is actually my guitar with some VST magic applied. And since I’m drum-stupid, the drums are a loop from platinumloops.

OK so I didn’t exactly stick to the format. Somehow or another, by the time I had the backing tracks laid down I was at 200 bpm with a half-time feel, which made sticking to the guide notes pretty tough. The first lead lick DOES follow the guide notes though, well, at least it uses them anyway : ) Thought it would be cool to do a dueling guitars thing, with one mostly playing a G major pentatonic and the other sticking to Bb.
