Fret War gathers guitarists from all over the interwebs to a showdown for fame and glory to prove they are the fastest, most accurate, creative or unique players out there.
The idea is simple: Once a week the Conductor submits a round with a musical challenge. It could be based on a mode, a motif, a particular piece of non-copyrighted music, or something totally weird.
At midnight on Friday, the winners are reviewed on a show everyone can download to hear who won The Fret War!
The rules for Fret War are simple:
The goal is to both be most recognized by the other players, and to get recognized by The Conductor for the round as being the best guitarist.
Everyone can submit for the current round, which will be due soon. Stay tuned for the announcement of when it's going to be actually ready. The remaining features are to give a comments and ratings system. Review the Playing information to find out how to do it, and make sure you Signup so you can participate.
It's very easy to participate in Fret War. You just need to signup for an account and then send your submission to play@fretwar.com. Here's how it works:
It really is that simple. The link you get is public and you are allowed to share it with friends and get people to come talk about it. Making Your Submission
Ratings will be based on whether people like various qualities of your submissions, not on a particular 1-5 arbitrary number scale. Their opinions on accuracy, interpretation, tone, and uniqueness will add up to a score.
Finally, if you win then your submission will be used in The Show later in the week, and we'll possibly try to interview you about your submission. The Mailing List And Twitter
